Faculty
Qualified scientists, biologists and physicists staff the Science Department. All staff has teaching
experience as well as practical experience in each of their related fields. This practical experience allows the teachers to teach exciting and more importantly, useful aspects of science, biology and physics. Our in-house Mathematics teacher, Mr. Pat Lynch, compliments the Science department with his Introduction to Mathematics for Science courses.
Teaching Facilities
FGCC now can offer students a laboratory environment, newly opened in the fall semester 2004. The laboratory is equipped with benches and desks, and all the materials for students to perform exciting practical experiments to accompany their learning.
Some of the latest experiments have included testing starch levels in vegetation using heat and iodine, a practical 'natural selection' experiments using paper moths and the isolation of DNA!
With the help of 2 new 'Practical Assistants', the Science Department intends to expand on the level of practical experimentation it can offer to the budding scientists in future classes!
