What is an Associate in Arts/Science Certificate? What does it mean for students?
The 2-year Associate in Arts/Science Certificate is a qualification unique to Thailand. Although not officially recognized by the Thai Education Authority, the Certification of Arts/Science is recognized as what it is – proof of a 2 year general secondary education, focusing on English language skills, uniquely taught by qualified native English speaking teachers. The Certificate exhibits dedication to general higher education and demonstrates advanced English language skills. FGCC students are to complete a minimum of 70 credits from required and elective courses during their two-year study.
Students who excel academically will be able to transfer credits to selected universities and/or use the extra skills they have learnt to progress faster through tertiary education system.
Transferability
Currently three universities will accept exceptionally prepared FGCC graduates as transfer students into limited departments: Mahasarakham University, Rakhamhaeng University and Sri Nakharinwirot University in Bangkok. In the future FGCC hopes to integrate its graduates to many other universities, not only in Thailand, but internationally. The FGCC certificate offers training favorably looked upon by universities.
FGCC also provides specialized training in English and specialized training for TOEFL examination preparation, which will allow students to pass university entrance examinations with much more ease
