International Merit Scholarship

Hathairat “Maam”
Winner Summer 2004

At the moment we have International Merit Scholarship (www.meritscholarship.org) that former FGCC volunteers Kristyn and Maxim Zalota are kindly offering to FGCC students.

The International Merit Scholarship is awarded every semester to the two most hard-working and motivated FGCC students. In a small ceremony at the end of the semester the nominees receive a certificate and a monetary prize in the amount of 4000 baht.

Kristyn and Maxim Zalota, the founders of the International Merit Scholarship, taught at FGCC for two semesters in 2004 and felt that one of the most important things that FGCC can teach the students is how to be pro-active, how to be curious and how to learn by themselves.

The scholarship was established in order to reward the most hard-working, self-driven and curious students for the great effort that they put into studying. Another goal of the scholarship is to emphasize to the rest of the students that developing these characteristics is more important in the long run than simply getting good grades or a degree.

The Science Merit Scholarship

The Science Department at FGCC created the International Science Merit Scholarship to encourage interest in science subject taught at FGCC. The award is given to the student who demonstrates the best attitude towards learning science. This award is not meant to reward the student who has the highest grades, but rather to recognize the student who puts forth the most effort during the course of their study of science.
