The student services building serves as a common meeting place for FGCC students; a place in which students can seek educational and career planning assistance, as well as engage with other students and international staff in many extracurricular activities.
A spacious and inviting student center which includes a recreation area with table tennis equipment, as well as mats, tables and chairs for comfortable movie night watching and playing games. The student services building has a new kitchen area and supplies that will allow students to enjoy mugs of hot tea and snacks. There are student announcement boards that include updated information on educational and career opportunities, as well as student activities. A space has been created especially for student's artwork and design! The building has a number of fans and two bathrooms that add to the comfort and convenience of students and staff. Students are always welcome to seek out assistance from the Office of the Student Services Director- her door is always open!
Library
The Library's facilities include daily English and Thai newspapers and other publications, such as Time and News week.
There are also 2 computers located in the Library for research purposes, and a photocopier, as well as a large reference catalogue of university prospectuses.
The Library has a wide variety of books and publications, ranging from children's English books, geology and geography, maths, English and Thai fiction, political science, environment and economic development, specialist computer books and encyclopedias. The Library also boasts a range of English cassette tapes for practicing listening skills. The staff in the Library are happy to help students find the books they require.
Science Teaching Facilities
The FGCC Science Laboratory was opened in the fall semester 2004. Deemed an educational luxury by usual secondary education standards, the laboratory is equipped with benches and desks, and all the materials for students to perform exciting practical experiments to accompany their learning. Resources include burners, beakers, test tubes, pipettes, electronic scales, microscopes and an abundance of chemicals and materials for practical scientific experimentation - as well as 5 members of qualified teaching staff to supervise students. Some of the latest experiments have included testing starch levels in vegetation using heat and iodine, a practical 'natural selection' experiment using paper moths and the isolation of DNA from a kiwi fruit!
With the presence of two new 'Practical Assistants', the Science Department intends to expand on the level of practical experimentation offered to the budding scientists in future classes.
